Wings of Heaven Gospel Singers

Wendell E. Smith was born and raised in Dover, DE. and has been playing the guitar for approximately fourteen or more years.  He has been privileged to play for a countless number of churches, funerals, prisons and nursing homes.  He also played with several other groups, such as the Sermonettes of Harrington, DE and the New Sons of Calvary of Salisbury, MD.

Loretha H. Smith was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and began singing at an early age.  She has ministered as a soloist for funerals and various churches in Philadelphia and New Jersey.  Loretha was a member of the House of Prayer Gospel Choir and was blessed to previously record with gospel recording artist, Deacon Ezra Williams and Predestined Praise of Philadelphia, PA, before God called her into this ministry. 

Wendell and Loretha met at a gospel program in Almond, NJ.  Two months later, Loretha began to sing with the Wings of Heaven.  They have been singing together since 2002 and in October of 2004, they joined in the bonds of holy matrimony and began their husband and wife ministry. 

Wendell and Loretha are faithful members of the Southwest Seventh Day Adventist Church of Philadelphia. They have been blssed to share their ministry in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland,New York,  North Carolina, Florida, St. Louis and Massachusetts, appearing on programs at the Allegheny East Seventh Day Adventist Women's Prayer Conference, The Watson Four Gospel Singers anniversary, along with Kenny Davis and the Melodyaires, Jay Caldwell and the Gospel Ambassadors, The Sensational Nightingales, The Swanee Quintet, the Original Blind Boys of Mississippi and recently appeared on Pastor John Pee Keys New Artist Showcase.
